Dr. Michalko is a board certified pediatrician and international board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) in Rochester, NY.
Pediatric Care
Dr. Michalko cares for pediatric patients from birth through young adulthood. She has special interests in newborn care and breastfeeding in addition to integrative medicine and adolescent health. She practices evidence based medicine to provide the best care for your family and follows the American Academy of Pediatrics immunization schedule.
She is one of the only dual board certified IBCLC/pediatricians in the Rochester area.
Lactation Care
Dr. Michalko developed an interest in breastfeeding medicine while working in the newborn nursery and NICU during her training at Stanford. She completed additional training and examination to become an IBCLC.
IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. IBCLCs have completed rigorous training required to become internationally recognized lactation experts and hold the highest accreditation in lactation consultation.
Her passion for lactation care is deeply influenced by her own breastfeeding journey. Experiencing feeding challenges in the early days with her daughter affirmed her desire to support families by providing easily accessible lactation care in her pediatric office. She enjoys being able to support families with breastfeeding while being their pediatric primary care physician.
Dr. Michalko can help guide direct feeding, pumping, bottle feeding, and formula selection if needed for your baby.
